The Republic of Peru, as a Member State of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS) and as a Chief of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of Corporate Social Responsibility, Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women, expresses its commitment to the modernization and sustainable growth of the national port system, in order to achieve a higher degree of development of our external trade, promoting investment in the port sector, as a fundamental part of the logistic chain.
Within this framework, it is considered of paramount importance to promote actions that favor the inclusion of the stakeholder’s expectations, generating a better port-city interaction, with actions that contribute to sustainable development, accepting and assuming responsibilities of the activities and decisions impacts in the society and the environment.
In this line, we also encourage the development of these social responsibility actions, so that they can be carried out by the different actors that form part of the port community, including port facilities.
On the other hand, to emphasize the role that the woman has been fulfilling in the different domains of the port sector, both in the administrative and operational areas, that until recently was reserved for men, strengthening their role of leadership in the port development in the Americas.
